Rain Barrel Workshops in Hampton Roads, Virginia

Harvest the Rain with Rain Barrels
Let it rain! Now is the perfect time for RAIN BARRELS! If you are interested in adding a rain barrel or two around your home to harvest rain water, please attend a rain barrel workshop. You can also make your own rain barrel with a trash can or purchase a premade rain barrel at many home and garden centers. Rain barrels capture roof runoff, providing water for your gardens or lawn. They help control stormwater runoff, which causes erosion and degrades our streams.

Rain Barrel Workshops, Hampton
The Hampton Master Gardeners and the Hampton Clean City Commission are partners in bringing much-acclaimed rain barrel workshops to Hampton for the third year. All workshops will be held at Blue Bird Gap Farm – 60 Pine Chapel Road, Hampton in the feeding shed behind the tower with the Blue Bird on it. The workshops are rain or shine. Please bring $40.00 in cash or a check made out to Hampton Master Gardeners, a lock or crescent wrench, a flashlight, and work gloves. We provide the pre-drilled barrel, and all the hardware. The barrel is a 50-55 gallon plastic olive or pickle barrel, so please make sure you have a vehicle with sufficient cargo capacity to carry it home after the workshop.
